Hi, my name’s David Rowntree. I live in Oegstgeest in the Netherlands.

Originally from England, I studied Graphic design in Southport and worked for a number of years in London and Windsor as a Designer/Visualiser before moving to Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

After six years working for agencies in Eindhoven, I decided it was time to go freelance and moved to the west of Holland to be within proximity of Amsterdam.

Being freelance has given me the opportunity to work for companies both large and small, where I’ve not only been able to hone my skills as a Graphic Designer, but also been given a glimpse into other aspects of design such as product design, retail design and art.

For as long as I can recall, I have always had a passion for making things which I’ve enjoyed as a hobby alongside my job. In recent years that passion has grown and I have found myself becoming more and more interested in combining my 2D skills with designing and making things in 3D.

The short shelf-life which most graphic design has today, combined with the unrelenting demand for quantity rather than quality has energised me in my personal work to ensure originality, good design and impeccable craftsmanship are paramount. As a testament to this philosophy, the positive reviews I’ve received of my work serve as a reminder that I must be doing something right!
